Anton Debatin GmbH established its close collaboration with L.E.S.S. France back in 2012. In 2019, we acquired L.E.S.S. ., thereby enriching the DEBATIN Group with another highly specialised enterprise. This was an important move for us, creating the right conditions to build up the DEBAMED® range into the strong – and constantly evolving – portfolio we have today.
In 2021, we made the decision to renovate and extend the company premises at our Hoenheim site, to create a space where we will pool the competences of our two – still independent – French subsidiaries. In the new centre, the companies will be able to strengthen each other, evolve together and build on our success story.
What’s been done in Hoenheim?
Since the construction project began, we have demolished a separate office block that was previously rented out, built a new office block onto the main building, and refurbished the main building, the warehouse, and our lorry collection and delivery areas. New communal spaces for the DEBATEAM have also been built.
Forward-thinking: energy consumption at DEBATIN Hoenheim
We have installed the latest technology in the new office block – namely, the building will be heated by a heat pump, which will also supply heat to offices in the main building. Furthermore, the same ceiling panels will be used to cool the offices in summer. All in all, much more efficient than the previous system of radiators and air-conditioning that used to run through the offices. Improvements have also been made to the front façade of the main building, which looks onto the street, and has been reclad and insulated. These energy-saving measures will enable us to significantly reduce the energy costs at DEBATIN Hoenheim.
On schedule despite raw material shortages, supply chain issues and the pandemic
We are delighted that the renovation and building work has gone so well. In fact, despite the difficult economic conditions, the work was finished more or less on schedule!
The new building was complete by mid-July, and the Hoenheim DEBATEAM moved straight into their new offices. The renovation work will be finished in early November, thereby enabling the warehouse to be reorganised by the end of the same month. Before the end of the year, everything will be ready for our L.E.S.S. colleagues to make the big move from Chelles into their new premises in Hoenheim.
Unfortunately, we will probably not be able to complete the work on the green areas until early 2023… but we’ll be ready for the official grand opening ceremony in the spring!
