To this day, our name pays tribute to Anton Debatin, the man who founded our company. But the company’s approach to communication, both internal and external, has changed significantly over the last century.
In its early years, DEBATIN proudly presented the Debatin family’s coat of arms as its logo. This represented tradition and values, as well as their pragmatic, family-oriented attitude. In his capacity as CEO of the company, Anton Debatin was personally responsible for conducting negotiations and determining the course of the company.
A century later, DEBATIN still builds on core values. In fact, our DEBAVALUES now play an integral role in our corporate philosophy. They form the foundation, framework and point of reference for all our interactions – not only with customers and suppliers, but also within the DEBATEAM itself.
From print to web – new technology and the digital transformation
In our last anniversary blog, we looked at how DEBATIN’s image has changed over the decades. We also promised to give you a few glimpses into the way our online presence has developed.
New technology has not only proven to be a driving force in product development; it’s also heavily influenced and changed the way we communicate. The first DEBATIN website, available in three languages, was launched in 1998. This enabled people the whole world over to access key data about DEBATIN plus descriptions of its different product categories. What’s more, it was an opportunity to establish the new logo and visuals. The first website was concise, matter-of-fact, clean cut and staid – but it significantly extended our visibility and coverage. Admittedly, it was also somewhat “cool” and dispassionate, though this was true of many websites of the time.
Over the years, we’ve relaunched the DEBATIN website multiple times. Each relaunch has focussed more on products and areas of application, and each has been more user-friendly than the last.
Nowadays, we also place more emphasis on the human factor. We proudly present our DEBATEAM and show their professional and practical expertise and potential. One example of this is our DEBAYOURS® page, which offers truly unique services.
Here at DEBATIN, we believe that modern communication goes so much deeper than just shifting from print to the web – or from sending advertising mail by post to creating online product pages. New technology and the digital transformation have opened the door to wholly new forms of communication – with exponentially more benefits and potential!
Growing together: communicating and sharing transparently on an equal footing
So how does that work in practice? Here at DEBATIN, our internal and external communication channels are linked. We use all the options and channels at our disposal as well as the manifold advantages of direct, mobile communication and dialogue. For example, we’ve created a strong social media presence (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram), a news blog, topical webcasts and – our latest addition – our DEBATIN Solution Walk.
